That is why sustainability is an important part of how we invest in our premises, improve our operations and plan for the future. We are proud of the progress we have made, while recognising that responsible business is an ongoing commitment.
Reducing the impact of our operations
We continue to invest in practical measures that help reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources and support cleaner ways of working.
Solar panels installed on the main roof of our premises allow us to generate renewable energy on site. We are also improving energy use across our operations, identifying opportunities to work more efficiently and reduce unnecessary consumption.
Electric vehicle charging points are available at our premises, supporting the move towards lower-emission transport for our team and visitors. These investments form part of our wider approach to reducing the environmental impact of our day-to-day activities.
Using resources more carefully
Reducing waste starts with making better use of the resources already available to us. We are taking steps to reduce single-use plastics and improve the efficiency of our packaging, helping us use fewer unnecessary materials while continuing to protect products throughout storage and delivery.
We are also reviewing how orders are packed and distributed to make our processes more efficient. Alongside this, rainwater harvesting at our site helps us make better use of a natural resource and reduce demand on mains water where appropriate.
These measures may be practical, but together they help create a more resource-conscious way of working across the business.
Working with our supply chain
Our responsibility does not stop at our own premises. Total Hardware works with established manufacturers and partners across the hardware industry, and we are committed to collaborating with them to reduce the environmental footprint of our wider supply chain.
This includes looking for opportunities to improve packaging, distribution and resource efficiency, while continuing to provide the quality, reliability and service our customers expect. We believe progress is strongest when businesses work together and share responsibility for raising standards.
